Overview
Introduction to MegaETH and its capabilities
Overview
MegaETH is the world’s first real-time blockchain.
GTE is built ontop of MegaETH and takes advantage of MegaETH’s high throughput and low latency to make trading venues such as an onchain CLOB economically feasible with the same latency as centralized exchanges.
For a more in-depth look at the technicals behind MegaETH, we recommend checking out the community-made documentation that explores how MegaETH hyper-optimizes the EVM.
How It Works
MegaETH leverages Ethereum’s security and decentralization as a layer-2 and removes consensus from the critical path of transactions.
This innovation allows MegaETH to have:
- 100k TPS
- 1-5ms latency / block time
Both of which are necessary components in making GTE the world’s fastest decentralized trading venue.
What Type Of Apps Are Possible on MegaETH?
MegaETH is a paradigm shift akin to the likes of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
A real-time blockchain enables applications that are inherently unique and exclusive to MegaETH.
These applications are known as only possible on MegaETH or OMEGA type of applications.
GTE’s onchain CLOB is an example of this, with MegaETH being the only possible execution environment that can provide the same economics and technical specs as a CEX.
Where is MegaETH in its development right now?
MegaETH is in its first iteration of public testnet and may be unstable. MegaETH and GTE will rapidly improvement performance and stability over time.
MegaETH is currently in public testnet. MegaETH is an ambitious project and is pushing performance of a blockchain to limits never seen before.
As such, MegaETH and by proxy GTE may be unstable at first and rapidly improved overtime.
